Persona (in-progress, through research): Independent professionals who find doing their own taxes their more stressful financial task—actively engaged in managing personal finances, keeps putting off budgeting, has made poor investment decisions in the past, uses Google or AI to understand financial concepts, sometimes talks about money with family and friends.

Gmail for a physical world

My attempt to make the Gmail desktop visually more in line with a contemporary movement past "flat" design, by adding dimensionality to still-flat layout elements (to maintain readability and contrast) with strategic use of color behind for added charisma. Neumorphism ("embossing") and an overtly monochromatic look-and-feel were avoided as they have been shown to decrease positive engagement, due largely to lack of contrast.
